About the Event

Come join us at the Collin College Wylie campus to install a pocket prairie! Located on the north side of the campus at the Urban Ag student garden,

Prairies are one of the most endangered ecosystems in the world. With so little of these natural spaces remaining, pocket prairies have become a popular choice for beautification projects, educational gardens, and conservation efforts. Volunteers will help with the planting of several Blackland Prairie species, learn more about the benefits to wildlife and humans, and assist in creating an educational outlet for the community.

All ages are welcome to join.

Supplies:

Gardening tools and light refreshments will be provided.

What to bring:

  •  Bring water for hydration.

  • Closed-toe shoes are required.

  • Sunscreen, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Light refreshments will be provided.
