Guided Kayak Trip

Join Ranger Kathryn and Texas Conservation Alliance for a guided kayak trip along the sloughs of Lake B.A. Steinhagen in East Texas! We will paddle at a comfortable pace while learning about the native flora and fauna of the area.

Bring your boat or rent from us! Use a canoe or kayak to join the paddle. Whether you are an experienced paddler or new to the hobby, come on out and join us for a fun-filled morning. Introductions and instructions will be given before each trip.

When: The kayak trip is 10am -1pm. 

Where:  launch from the Walnut Slough Day Use Area (Walnut Ridge Unit)

Bring: Water shoes, appropriate attire, plenty of water, your own kayak or rent one (first come, first served). 

Cost: Guided trips are free, entrance to the park requires a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass. Boat rental fees are not included with a Texas State Park Pass. Boat rental has additional cost. 

Reminder: Keep in mind that even though these are guided trips, you participate at your own risk. If your kayak tips over, you must be able to get back in by yourself. You can choose to stay with the group or peel off and do your own trip if you wish. If you cannot keep up with the group and fall behind, you can continue at your own pace or return to the launch point.
