About the Event
Celebrate National Prairie Day at Galveston Island State Park! Coastal prairies are vital ecosystems that support a diverse range of wildlife. Join Galveston Island State Park (GISP), Go Outside Alliance, Houston Zoo, the Friends of Galveston Island State Park (FoGISP), and Texas Conservation Alliance (TCA) for a hands-on restoration project at the State Park. Volunteers will help plant native plants that have been propagated by GISP, contributing to the revitalization of these critical habitats. Your efforts will play a crucial role in preserving our coastal prairies.
Parking: Volunteers will meet and park at the Nature Center and carpool to the planting site. (* Carpooling is recommended )
What to wear: Long pants & Closed-toed shoes are a must.
