About the Event

Monarchs are beautiful and their migration is amazing! But this migration is threatened due to habitat loss and degradation, climate change, deforestation, and the use of pesticides. Monarchs are fluttering on the brink of extinction. Milkweed, the sole food source for monarch caterpillars, is more and more rare. We need to take action to bring it back and save these iconic butterflies.

TCA teamed up with Groundwork Dallas to build a pollinator garden filled with milkweed and native plants for monarchs and many other pollinators in Hines Park. Join TCA and Groundwork Dallas to learn more and help save monarchs from extinction!

Please note:

  • This event is combined with park clean-up. Volunteers will rotate through garden installation and park clean-up tasks.
  • There are no bathrooms on site.
  • We adhere to COVID-19 protocols: including wearing masks, social distancing, and strictly outdoor gatherings.
