About the Event

Monarch butterflies, the state insect of Texas, need our help! This iconic species migrates through Texas every spring and fall but with less than 1% of our native Blackland prairie left, it can be extremely difficult for them to find the host and nectar plants they need to survive.

Join TCA and the Dallas Zoo’s Wild Earth Action Team to restore habitat for monarch butterflies and other imperiled pollinators.

What we'll be doing: General maintenance of a pocket prairie including weeding, mulching, and planting native prairie plants.

Parking: Park in the Owl Parking Lot. Look for the green “Creating a Better World for Animals” sign.
