Marvel at trees well over 100 years old. Make conservation connections, meet new friends, and learn all about TCA's critical work to save this area by advocating for National Forest Service special management status.
Event Details
Meet at the Boles Field campgrounds picnic shelter off FM 2694 about 14 miles east of Shelbyville.
Internet access and mobile phone service could be spotty. Print directions beforehand.
Dress for the weather, including shoes that can get muddy, and long pants.
Sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and a reusable water bottle are advised.
Bring a picnic lunch to eat in the forest.
No bathrooms

10 AM – Arrive at picnic shelter
10:15 AM - Orientation
10:30 AM - Depart for trailhead
11:00 AM - Arrive at trailhead
11:00 AM to approx. 1:30 PM – Meander through this special area and learn from Larry what’s being done to protect it. Enjoy your brownbag lunch.
Return to trailhead before 2:00 PM
