About the Event
Join TCA to remove litter pollution and help protect wildlife in the Neches River Basin. We will be cleaning Hurricane Creek on the Azalea Trail, starting at Grace Dunne Richardson Park. Hurricane Creek winds throughout Lufkin and then makes its way through the pine forests of East Texas on its way to the Neches River, which eventually empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The accumulation of litter on that long journey to the gulf can pose a significant threat to the survival of many species. Animals often mistake litter for food, and some get entangled in fishing line and other debris. Together, we can make a significant impact on the health of this aquatic environment. So come on out and help us protect East Texas wildlife,  and our state’s coastal habitat and marine wildlife!
