Village Creek is known for its wild, scenic views through diverse ecosystems like cypress sloughs and bottomland hardwood forests. It originates near the Alabama Coushatta Reservation land, and continues south through Hardin County. Being a large part of this area's main watershed, trash often accumulates here due to the rise and fall of the creek water from heavy rains. Along with this, heavy usage of this boat ramp from the public can also attribute- especially in the hot Texas summer months!
Help us clean the main boat ramp area on US 96 in Lumberton, as well as walking and clearing the creek banks. It is recommended to wear closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, mosquito spray, and bring a refillable water bottle. TCA will provide trash bags, trash grabbers, gloves, vests, water, and some light snacks!
