About the Event
Explore how Dallas can lead the way in bird-friendly building design by reimagining one of its most iconic structures, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
Bird collisions with glass buildings are a leading cause of migratory bird deaths in urban areas. In Downtown Dallas, a single building, the Convention Center, accounts for an alarming 30% of all bird collisions. As the City embarks on an ambitious remodel of this facility, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reduce collisions, protect migratory birds, and model responsible urban development.
Join Audubon Texas and a panel of experts working on the ground in Dallas and across the country in collision reduction for an engaging conversation on how bird-friendly design can be integrated into the Convention Center renovation and why this moment matters for birds, people, and the future of Dallas’s skyline.
We’ll explore proven, cost-effective strategies for reducing glass collisions, highlight success stories from other cities, and discuss how decision-makers and the public can support solutions that balance form, function, and wildlife safety.
