Cherokee Neches River FLOAT

The FLOAT is a family-friendly canoe and kayak event on the Texas Parks and Wildlife designated Cherokee Neches State Paddling Trail. The put-in is at Neches River Run Park (2001 CR 3315, Jacksonville, TX 75766) where FM 747 (CR 3315, Cherokee County) crosses the Neches River and the take-out is at the Hwy. 79 Bridge. This trail usually takes 3-4 hours and is suitable for beginning paddlers.

TCA Annual Meeting

Join Texas Conservation Alliance for a fun day of conservation at the Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas (TRAC), Saturday, September 23!

TCA’s Annual Meeting will start with a conservation project to help improve habitat at TRAC. The Dean of the Dallas Zoo’s Wild Earth Academy, Ben Jones, and TRAC staff will lead a family-friendly project beginning at 9:15 am.

At 10:30 am we’ll move indoors where our featured speaker will be Brian Trusty, National Audubon’s Vice President for the Central Flyway, talking about important new initiatives in Texas conservation.

We’ll adjourn by noon so attendees can tour the Center or a walk along the trails. Entry to TRAC will be free for those attending the event.
